Rumor: David Reutimann Debuting With New Team

2012 has been one of the most bizaare and controversial seasons that David Reutimann has been through in his racing career and the story will just be continuing on apparently.

It has been reported that Reutimann will be racing for a new team that will be making it’s debut this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway.

It will be the #44 Chevrolet entry owned by Xxxtreme Motorsports. Frankie Kerr is rumored to be the crew chief for the team. Kerr most recently was employed at JTG Daugherty Racing.

Xxxtreme Motorsports’ shop will be based out of the old TRG Motorsports shop that is located in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Reutimann began the year without a ride after being fired from Michael Waltrip Racing to make room for Mark Martin and Brian Vickers. That was a ride he had held since MWR first joined the Sprint Cup Series and one Reutimann felt was secure.

He then signed a deal with Tommy Baldwin Racing to run a second car (the #10) when Danica Patrick wasn’t driving the car. For those races, he has supposedly signed a deal with BK Racing to drive a third car for the team, but that apparently never went through.

Now it appears that he will be making another change of teams this weekend at Phoenix.
