2012 is definitely a season that Kyle Busch would love to forget had even happened. He went winless in the Camping World Truck Series. He went winless in the Nationwide Series. He missed the Chase for the Sprint Cup. He had numerous engine failures and lost races that he dominated.
The 2012 season is over and it’s time for Rowdy to move onward!
Rowdy has a driver for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the trucks, but doesn’t look to have any sponsors. He also doesn’t appear to be putting together a Nationwide Series team together again for 2013.
Joe Gibbs was quoted over the weekend by many sources as saying that Kyle will have sponsorship from Monster to run in the Nationwide Series for JGR.
Even though Rowdy has a contract for next year in the Sprint Cup Series, Joe Gibbs has made it a priority to have that contract extended before the end of 2012.
“We’re working really hard on that. We want to do that early so we’re not going into the last year,” Gibbs told FOX Sports. “M&M’s is on board, but their contract is still extended into the future. Hopefully, we get everything clarified in the next two weeks. I’m expecting everything to kind of be in place in the next two weeks. That would be a game plan for us if we could. That would be exciting.”
Maybe this is just what the doctor ordered for Busch. With all of the distractions of running his own Nationwide Series team, Busch found himself struggling in all three rides this year. Granted he only ran a select group of races in the trucks, but his for the first time since he was 18, he went winless in the Nationwide Series.
Time will tell is this is the correct decision for Busch, and I know Rowdy Nation is hoping it gets in back in championship contention.
