Well, it’s never to early to get going on our previews for 2013 with Daytona looming just around the corner. It’s only natural we will begin with Jamie McMurray and his #1 Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing team.
Last season was absolutely miserable for McMurray and Chip Ganassi’s crew as a whole.
He had an average finish of 20.08 with an average starting position of 21.3. He finished 21st in the overall point standings this year.

After the miserable season, team co-owner Chip Ganassi made a lot of internal changes. Before the last season even began, Ganassi cleaned up and made a lot of internal staff changes.
This off season Ganassi announced the team will be no longer using the teams namesakes for engines. Since Ganassi merged with the now defunct Dale Earnhardt Inc., the team has used Earnhardt-Childress Engines.
Beginning in 2013, McMurray and Juan-Pablo Montoya will now be using Hendrick Motorsports power under the hood.
Also, McMurray will be sporting some familiar yet possibly a few new colors. Bass Pro Shops left EGR to replace Office Depot at Stewart-Haas Racing. McDonalds has announced they will be putting their colors on the hood for a few more additional races. However, a final sponsor lineup for McMurray will come in the coming weeks.
