In an offseason full of changes for Turner Motorsports that includes changing their name/ownership to Turner Scott Motorsports, things are really going to look different when they arrive at Daytona in just a few weeks.
Today the newly rebranded Turner Scott Motorsports announced the hiring of crew chief Scott Zipadelli. Zipadelli will serve as the crew chief for Justin Allgaier and the #31 team.
“I’m very excited about the opportunity to join Turner Scott Motorsports, especially having teammates to collaborate with,” said Zipadelli. “I’m definitely looking forward to working with Justin [Allgaier]. I’ve paid a lot of attention to his progress and skill level over the years. I think he’s very talented and that our personalities will complement each other well. I’m also really excited to work with [co-owners] Steve Turner and Harry Scott. My goal is to make this team as competitive as possible, to give Justin the chance to win races and put the No. 31 team in a position to run for a championship. That’s our goal.”
Just days ago, the team announced the signing of Danica Patrick for a part-time schedule that included the dismissal of Kasey Kahne and Brad Sweet to JR Motorsports. They also announced they re-signed Allgaier for the upcoming year for the Nationwide Series program.
Zipadelli comes to Turner Scott Motorsports after spending the last few seasons with RAB Racing where he earned one win in Montreal with Boris Said behind the wheel. This is a huge opportunity for both Zipadelli, Allgaier and Turner to grow as a team, driver, and championship contenders.
