Tommy Baldwin Racing Changes Number

Tommy Baldwin Racing has announced that the team will no longer be using the #36 in the Sprint Cup Series starting with the Daytona 500.

Baldwin says that team will use the #7 on their Chevrolet SS as a tribute to his father Tommy Baldwin Sr. Baldwin Sr was a legenary modified racer who drove the #7NY throughout his career.

“It is a very special moment today to announce the number 7 on our Chevrolet SS. The number has been in the Baldwin family for a long time and it is going to be pretty special to carry on that legacy in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.”

Tommy Baldwin Racing returns to the track in 2013 as a one car operation with Dave Blaney behind the wheel.

There has been no word on a second team for this year that Baldwin ran last year with David Reutimann behind the wheel in a partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing to keep Danica Patrick in the top-35 in the points.
