Richard Petty And Tim Tebow Team Up

Richard Petty and Tim Tebow have teamed up for a good cause. Tebow has given his old college car to Petty to restore and then the car will be auctioned off and all the proceeds will go to Tebow’s charity foundation for his work in the Philippines. The car is going to be shown off at the 2013 Daytona Speedweeks.

Tim Tebow’s 1995 Thunderbird was left at his parents house in Florida after he entered the 2010 NFL draft. The car was given to Richard Petty. It was very rusty, covered in cat prints and not in the best condition. Tim Tebow’s foundation executive said:

“We’re excited because obviously the legendary status of Richard Petty is a  great tie to us,”

Petty said when he got the car he was a little surprised because it wasn’t your average college students car he said. It had phone numbers from scouts in it but not beer cans or cigarette ashes in it. Originally the plan was to just sell the car but when Tebow and his foundation workers got a look at the car they had a great idea of taking it on a promotional tour to raise even more money for the kids.

Certainly with Richard Petty a seven time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion and his team working on Tebow’s car it is bound to look amazing.  The car is eventually going to be auctioned off in late 2013.

can tim tebow be given a chance to play QB for at least a full season? guy can’t get a break!

the entire inept jets org (owner, coach, GM, etc.) stuck w/ sanchez and never ever considered putting tebow in when he was healthy.

peeps always criticize his mechanics. but hey, throw the prototypical QB in the blender as well (cutler, rivers, stafford, palmer, schaub, etc). did these guys win? and when i say win i mean Super Bowl — cuz as a formula 1 team principal once said ‘…second place is 1st of the losers’.

he deserves a chance. afterwards, win or fail, then we’ll talk.
