2013: Jeff Gordon News & Nuggets

Th 4 time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion is looking to take his first title in over 10 years in 2013. Its hard to believe that it has been over 10 years since Jeff Gordon has won a championship and it isn’t going to be an easy road to winning it this year.

With Jimmie Johnson coming so close to winning his 6th championship he is going to give everything he has this year to win. That only is going to make it harder for Jeff to win the championship. The best thing Jeff can do is win as many races as he can until the chase then finish as best he can, avoid getting wrecked and hope for a little luck.

Now Jeff has won his fair share of races the past few years and the momentum might carry into the 2013 season. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him win the Daytona 500. I believe Jeff Gordon needs to win the Daytnona 500 if he wants to have a championship season. It will give him the momentum to keep winning races. He might still have some momentum form winning the season finale last year at Homestead.

Jeff will be running with AARP again and it was just announced today that NASCAR fans will not see Gordon’s famous Dupont paint scheme again as the company has rebranded itself as Axalta Coating Systems. They will sponsor Jeff throughout the season. This really doesn’t help or hurt Jeff at all but it certainly is upsetting for the fans.

Jeff Gordon’s 2013 season is going to be an interesting one. There is a chance that he will win the championship but he is definitely going to have to work on it.
