The 2013 NASCAR season is finally upon is and I know many were gathered around their TV last night watching Sprint Unlimited practice.
While 19 drivers will get a chance to race each other in a non-points race, the remaining drivers at the track will join them today and tomorrow in preparation for next weekend’s Daytona 500.
Saturday, February 16th: The first practice session of the season for the entire Sprint Cup Series circuit will take place. Television coverage starts at 11am on SPEED. The second practice session will also air on SPEED when the drivers hit the track at 2pm. Of course later tonight at 8pm the “first” race of the season will take the green flag in the Sprint Unlimited.
Sunday, February 17th: Forty-five drivers will lineup on pit road next to their cars hoping to get the chance of a lifetime as they will qualify for the Daytona 500. You can tune into FOX at 1pm and watch live! While all will qualify, only two drivers will officially know where they start next Sunday. That of course will be the pole sitter and the outside pole sitter. Everyone else will race in the Budweiser Duels to determine who goes home and where everyone else will start on their perspective rows.
Wednesday, February 20th: Only one practice session will be held for the Budweiser Duels. Tune into SPEED at 2:30pm.
Thursday, February 21st: The action really heats up on Thursday. Final practice for the Nationwide Series takes place at 10am on ESPN2 followed by Camping World Truck Series practice at 12pm on SPEED. Then at 2pm (again on SPEED) sit down and tighten your seat belt for the Budwesier Duels. Last season the Duels were the best races of SpeedWeeks! Then at 6pm on SPEED you can see the final practice for the Camping World Truck Series.
Friday, February 22nd: Friday at 11am you can catch Sprint Cup Series practice on SPEED followed by another practice session at 12:30om. At 1:30pm qualifying for the Camping World Truck Series will be on SPEED. At 3:30pm be sure to switch over to ESPN2 for Nationwide Series qualifying. To end the evening watch the always dramatic trucks take the first green flag of 2013 at 7:30pm on SPEED.
Saturday, February 23rd: Start your weekend with final practice for the Daytona 500 at 10:30am on SPEED. At 1:15pm the Nationwide Series will take the green flag for the DRIVE4COPD 300 on ESPN.
Sunday, February 24th: Finally the day we’ve all been waiting for…the Daytona 500 live at 1pm on FOX!
