With a strong finish to the 2012 season Clint Bowyer is certainly a favorite to win the championship this year. With three wins last year and a second place finish in the final point standings, Clint Bowyer has some good momentum going into the 2013 season.
2013 is the second year that Clint Bowyer will be driving for Michael Waltrip Racing and the team is turning out to be a major team in NASCAR. Returning to sponsor Bowyer is 5-Hour Energy. Also returning will be Bowyer’s Sprint Cup crew chief is Brian Pattie. After running in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Clint will not be running in the Sprint Unlimited.
Be on the lookout though for Clint Bowyer to get a lot of wins this season. Michael Waltrip Racing is a growing race team and has shown to be capable of winning races and if Clint can start the season where he ended it last year he has a great shot to be the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion. There is a “curse” as you could call it though because four of the last seven second place finishers in the championship did not even make the chase. During NASCAR’s media day Clint responded to it by saying
“Everybody keeps warning me about this ‘second-place hangover,I tell people I’ve had a lot of hangovers; you fight through them.”
So Clint obviously isn’t worried about a little superstition and there is no reason to be because in racing anything is possible. Although it is very unlikely that Clint Bowyer has a bad year unless something really goes wrong.
Clint Bowyer can be an aggressive driver if he has to be and that is what it takes to be a champion. With a very strong 2012 season watch out for Clint Bowyer to possibly have a championship season.
