Thursday is the final day for drivers to race their way into the Daytona 500 when the field is split in half and drive race in two dual races. For all drivers, it’s vitally important to compete this year as the new provisional system could keep NASCAR’s most popular drivers from making the biggest race of the season.

Danica Patrick qualified on the pole on for the Daytona 500 this past Sunday. She is the first female to site on the pole of any Sprint Cup Series race. Jeff Gordon will share the outside of the front row with Patrick when the field takes the green flag for the Daytona 500 on Sunday.
