With any sporting event comes gambling…and the Daytona 500 is no different. As NASCAR’s biggest weekend is just days away, thousands of people will be placing bets on the race. So what are the odds for each driver?
Well the National Sports Adviser says that Dale Earnhardt Jr the fan favorite has a 9/1 shot of winning the Great American Race. Also with a 9/1 shot is Tony Stewart who is still looking for his first win in the Daytona 500. Pole sitter Danica Patrick’s odds are 18/1 and starting outside of her is Jeff Gordon who’s odds are 11/1. Last years champion Brad Keselowski’s odds are 14/1. The Sprint Unlimited winner Kevin Harvick has a 11/1 shot. The long shots of the Daytona 500 are Joe Nemecheck, Mike Bliss, Travis Kvapil, JJ Yeley and Brian Keselowski. They all have odds of 300/1 but in restrictor plate racing anyone one who makes the race has an equal shot of winning the race.
For the Nationwide Series race, the man with the best odds is Tony Stewart which, comes at no surprise since he has won at Daytona in a Nationwide car six times. James Buescher has the best odds of winning the Camping World Truck series race on Friday. His odds are 8/1.
Las Vegas has not forgotten about the Budweiser Duels tomorrow either! In the first duel the driver who has the best odds is the 2012 champion, Brad Keselowski, with 9/1 odds. In the second duel, Kyle Busch who is looking for fresh start with a new year has the best odds at 5/1.
With Daytona being a restrictor plate race it is almost impossible to predict who will win. Brad Keselowski has just as good of a chance to win as Terry Labonte has. That is what makes the Daytona 500 so exciting.
