Just as the NASCAR Nationwide Series will continue on to Phoenix International Raceway, so does the Sprint Cup Series. This will be the first time fans will see the new Generation Six car in a competitive race on a non-super speedway.
David Stremme will return behind the wheel of the Swan Racing Toyota, and the car itself will also return to the No. 30. The team ran the No. 26 with Michael Waltrip behind the wheel last week when the raised awareness for the victims of the Newtown shootings.
Ken Schrader will pilot Frank Stoddard’s No. 32 Safe Skies Locks Ford Fusion.
Austin Dillon will also return to the No. 33 Chevrolet again this week. They have yet to announce or find a sponsor for this weekend. Dillon is young and the future of the sport, so I’d be shocked is someone doesn’t tag along for this weekend.
XXXtreme Motorsports will be making their 2013 debut and only their second start in the Sprint Cup Series. Scott Riggs will pilot their No. 44 No Label Watches Ford.
AJ Allmendinger returns to the track. He will drive for James Finch and the No. 51 Phoenix Racing team. It’s one of his few scheduled races with the team this year.
