NASCAR: Gordon Bowyer II, The Sequel

Images are still vivid in my mind of Clint Bowyer sprinting through the garage area at Phoenix International Raceway with beating the crap out of Jeff Gordon on his mind, I can hardly wait for the re-match on Sunday. Even though I rooted the 24 car along for the past decade, I had no doubt that Clint could do the job. After All he is a big old farm-fed boy from Kansas who hung out with the Robertson Clan on Duck Dynasty, and is probably someone Jeff would want to stay clear of if the fists start flying.

I still believe Clint Bowyer, and his 5-Hour Energy Drink Toyota had a shot at the championship last year had it not been for the incident at the AdvoCare 500. Go look at the tape…Jimmie Johnson and crew chief, Chad Knaus showed the rest of the teams how to beat BK in that last race at Homestead before the Lowes Chevy expired, and if Bowyer had not lost all the points at Phoenix would have made the race, and the championship much more compelling.

It had to frost the #15 team when Gordon took his Hendricks Chevrolet to victory lane that afternoon. It put this fan on a course to root the 15 this year, and all of the Michael Waltrip Toyotas , Jack….I’m guessing that Si, and the rest of the gang in West Monroe will be pulling for him also.
