Tony Stewart vs. Joey Logano: NASCAR Will Not Issue Penalties

NASCAR has announced that they will not penalize Tony Stewart or Joey Logano after their post-race fight on Sunday at Auto Club Speedway.

After the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway on Sunday, Tony Stewart confronted Joey Logano after the race on pit road. Stewart was furious with Logano for blocking him on a restart that nearly had Smoke in the infield grass. Logano claimed he was blocking to hold onto the lead, but that continued to not sit well with the former three time Sprint Cup Series champion.

Stewart and Logano exchanged punches with each other, and have since with the exception of Stewart’s post race race comments, have not commented on it. Logano was asked at an earlier golf function about it, but said “no comment” to any and all questions.

Here are some of the colorful comments during his post-race interview that Smoke had to share:

“Dumb little [expletive] runs us clear down to the infield. He wants to [expletive] about everybody else. He’s the one who drives like a [expletive]. I’m going to bust his ass.”

“I mean he’s sent Denny to the hospital and screwed our day up. He’s talked the talk, but he hasn’t walked the walk yet.”

“Five years from now, we’re probably going to have to do another tribute to another driver because we’re probably going to kill somebody. It could be me. It could be Dale Earnhardt Jr.”

“If he ever turns down across in front of me again, I don’t care what lap it is, he won’t make it through the other end of it. I’m tired of these guys doing that stuff. Especially out of a kid that’s been griping about everybody else and then he does that the next week.”
