Logano in Hot Water: “Sprint Cup driver Joey Logano can’t seem to stay out of physical altercations with other drivers.

Last weekend in California, Logano continued to trade paint with Denny Hamlin, a carryover from Bristol.

Hamlin and Logano were battling for the win on the final lap, Logano came up the track sending Hamlin into a spin.

Logano scrapped the outside wall, but limped home in sixth. Hamlin slammed the inside retaining wall and suffered a fractured back.” (Rushville Republican)

Tony Stewart vs. Joey Logano: NASCAR Will Not Issues Penalties: “NASCAR has announced that they will not penalize Tony Stewart or Joey Logano after their post-race fight on Sunday at Auto Club Speedway.” (Beyond the Flag)

Penske Bristles at “petty” Criticsim against Joey Logano: “Roger Penske bristled Monday at “petty” barbs being levied against driver Joey Logano for his wealthy upbringing.

The team owner also defended his driver in the fallout from Sunday’s race at California, where Logano was involved in a last-lap accident with Denny Hamlin that hospitalized Hamlin. Logano also had a post-race altercation with Tony Stewart.

Penske told The Associated Press that it was just “hard racing,” and he stands behind Logano.” (NBC 41)

Denny Hamlin to Miss Six Weeks: “Well, can’t say we’re surprised, but Joe Gibbs Racing has confirmed Denny Hamlin will miss at least the next six races behind the wheel of their No. 11 Toyota. Dr. Jerry Petty will make the final decision on when Hamlin can return.” (Beyond the Flag)
