Michael Annett To Race In Nationwide Saturday

Michael Annett has not raced since the opening race at Daytona where he was involved in the big one that red flagged the race . He broke and dislocated his sternum in the wreck and has been sidelined since.

Annett will race this weekend at Charlotte in the Nationwide race and will still be driving the 43 car for Richard Petty Motorsports. Annett had to have surgery after the accident and has gone through physical therapy to help heal the injury. He was cleared by doctors and NASCAR officials on Monday after an MRI.  Michael Annett tweeted:

Pumped to announce I’ll be making my return to the #43 car this weekend at Charlotte. Can’t wait to get back in the seat!!!

Reed Sorenson has been filling in for Annett for seven of the eight race Annett has missed. There is no word yet as to what Reed is going to be doing not that Annett is coming back.

In his Nationwide career Annett has five top-fives, 30 top-tens over a span of six years. Michael Annett is certainly excited to be back in a Nationwide car this weekend.
