Regan Smith Holds Off Kyle Larson for Second Win of the Season

Regan Smith led fourteen laps and held off a hard charging Kyle Larson Saturday afternoon to win his second race of the season. He holds onto and extended his points lead over Sam Hornish Jr. to now 58 points, Justin Allgaier is quietly sitting just a point behind Hornish.

Larson had to settle for second, but had the race been extended for just a few more laps, odds are he would have won. He told the media after the race that finishing second wasn’t bad, but he wants to get that win.

Austin Dillon dominated the race, leading 61 laps, but pit strategy doomed his No. 3 team. His team made the decision to stay out during a debris caution since they had the fuel to go longer, but that debris caution caught up to them. Dillon ran over some of that debris before it was picked up and cut his tire forcing him to pit and lose a lap.
