Ryan Truex will make his third start in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this week at Dover for Harry Scott in the No. 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet.
”I can’t wait to get back in the seat of the No. 51 Shooters Sporting Center Chevrolet for Phoenix Racing at Dover,” said Truex. “I am grateful to Harry Scott Jr. for the opportunity to compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. I’m going to make the most out of this opportunity.”
Ryan has been in the No. 51 twice this season, both night races at Bristol and Richmond plus 35 NASCAR Nationwide Series races over the past three years with two Top 5 and nine Top 10 finishes. In 2012 Dover is a challenge for the most experienced drivers in any series. Truex did grab the pole for the June Nationwide Series even last year at Dover, so getting around the track is not an issue for the younger Mayetta NJ Truex brother.
“I love racing at Dover. It is my home track in the national series. The Monster Mile’s high banks are fun to drive, I’ve had a lot of success competing there,” said Truex.
The primary sponsor on the No. 51 will be Shooters Sporting Center, which is an indoor shooting range for firearms and archery enthusiasts. Located near Ryan’s hometown in Egg Harbor, NJ, Shooters Sporting Centers celebrates its Grand Opening on Saturday, September 28. More information can be found at www.ShootersNJ.net. Truex said The Shotters Shporting Center is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiast to sharpen their skills at the range. “I’m proud to have them on my car this week.”
Also the car is a company with local ties. SeaWatch International makes seafood products from high quality offshore clams and was founded in Milford, DE in 1978 and today is headquartered in Easton, MD.
