Reutimann Out At BK Racing

It has just been announced that David Reutimann and BK Racing have agreed to mutually part ways. Reutimann has decided not to pursue a ride with the race team due to current uncertainty of the 2014 driver lineup.

As of now, Alex Bowman will be testing the No. 83 Toyota for BK racing at the upcoming Preseason Thunder at Daytona International Speedway. Bowman also tested the ride back in December at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Ryan Truex, who’s still under contract with Richard Petty Motorsports, will test the team’s No. 93 Toyota, occupied in 2013 by Travis Kvapil.  Kvapil has an pending court date January 17 following charges for misdemeanor assault in October.

Dale Ferguson will continue to crew chief the No. 93 team, but Dave Winston will replace Doug Richert on the No. 83 team. According to BKR team owner Ron Divine, Richert will remain with the group.

In 8 years of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition, Reutimann recorded 2 wins and 4 poles along with leading 335 laps. In the Nationwide Series, he’s led 503 laps and picked up one win and 3 poles. His Camping World Truck Series stats consist of 79 starts with 17 top-5’s and 38 top-10’s. He earned win and 6 poles driving the tailgaters.

In 36 starts of the 2013 season, Reutimann only led one lap but completed 9,340 of 10,553 of them. He had an average start of 33.5 and a finish of 31.1 along with 9 DNF’s and finished 33rd in final Sprint Cup Series points.
