NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski thought that he had the car to end up where Kurt Busch was at the end of the STP 500, Victory Lane. However thanks to a bump with Kasey Kahne on pit road and then a smash from Busch right after, Keselowski was left without a front end on his No. 2 machine. Immediately after the incident NASCAR interviewed Keselowski on television and he had some harsh words for Busch. Those feelings would last throughout the race and afterwards as well.
Following the STP 500 from Martinsville, Keselowski again shared his thoughts on Busch and what had happened.
If you’re going to be aggressive, wreck yourself, don’t wreck me. I’ll remember that when it’s Lap 50 and he needs a break, and he’ll find his ass turned around in the wall. Just like he tore my car up.
Once or twice when it happens, you start to go, ‘Hey, it happens,’ but when it happens repeatedly, you just realize who the person is who’s at fault, and you just got to make sure you show them you’re not going to take that, and I’m not going to take it, and I know the No. 2 team’s not going to take it.
At the time of the incident Busch didn’t seem to be very happy on the track. While driving around under caution he went as far as telling his team that their day was pretty much over. After the race Busch also took a moment to share his thoughts on the incident with the No. 2 car.
Yeah, I can’t believe he overreacted and he’s as upset as he is. The No. 5 car (Kasey Kahne) was trying to pull into his box. Brad ran into the back of him. I steered right to go around Brad and then he clobbers our left-side door, and it’s like, OK, accidents happen on pit road. It’s congested.
It’s not a place to race, because of all the pit crew guys down there and I didn’t think much of it, and then once we were back out running, he targeted us. He was aiming for us. He tried to flatten all four of my tires. That’s a no-fly zone. That’s a punk-ass move and he will get what he gets back when I decide to give it back.
It would seem from the above comments that neither driver feels that they are quite even with the other one as of yet. Just in case you missed the incident here is a video of what took place courtesy of the NASCAR YouTube page.
