NASCAR Power Rankings: STP 500

Each and every week Beyond The Flag will bring you weekly NASCAR Power Rankings. Be sure to check in every week to see if your favorite driver made the list. This is how things stack up coming out of Martinsville.

Last finish
1.Matt Kenseth0↑16thIt's surprising that Kenseth hasn't won yet in 2014 considering how well he has run in the first six races. Another top-10 run moves him to second in the point standings behind Earnhardt.
2.Carl Edwards1↓113thThe No. 99 car came and went all day on its way to a 13th place finish.
3.Brad Keselowski1↑338thKeselowski was fast at the beginning of the race. Then he hit Kasey Kahne on pit road and was run into by Kurt Busch thus destroying his front end. The antics that would follow were fun to watch though.
4.Jeff Gordon0---12thGordon was fast early until he suffered damage after a pit stop put him in the rear of the field. He spent the last 240 laps battling and managed a 12th place finish.
5.Kyle Busch1↓214thKyle had a day like so many others, he was up and down and up and down.
6.Kyle Larson0↑227hKyle Larson is making a name for himself in 2014. He had a solid top-10 machine for parts of the race before a spin put him two laps down. This kid can race though!
7.Jimmie Johnson0↑42ndTwo weeks in a row it looked like Johnson was going to win. The No. 48 team is trying to smash through the door.
8.Kurt Busch1↑71stBusch is the sixth different winner of the year and he did so by passing Jimmie Johnson. To think he thought he was done 60 laps into the race.
9.Denny Hamlin0↓419thHamlin was fast in qualifying but the lack of practice seemed to really hurt the No. 11 team.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.1↑43rdEarnhardt had a strong showing after being invisible for a couple of weeks. He also took back the points lead, not bad at all Jr.
11.Tony Stewart0↓417thStewart carried a lot of momentum into this race but wasn't ever a factor out on the track.
12.Joey Logano0↑14th Logano ran near the front all day but it didn't feel like anyone truly believed he had the car to win it.
13.Kevin Harvick1↓113thHarvick ran all over the top-20 the entire race. He wasn't great and he didn't suck.
14.Marcos Ambrose0N/A5thAmbrose makes his debut in the Power Rankings after locking up his second top-five finish of 2014. And to think we haven't even been at a road course yet!
15.Austin Dillon0↓615thDillon seems to always finish in the 11th - 15th area on the track. Not surprising to find him in the same area in the Power Rankings.
