Can you hear the wedding bells?

Well if you can NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. wants his fans to know that they are not coming from his own wedding. Reports have begun to swirl that Earnhardt Jr. and girlfriend Amy Reimann are neck deep in planning their upcoming $2 million wedding. The wedding report is coming from The National Enquirer which might set off a few red flags for some. However, despite the source the story still gained some traction this past week.

Some of the million dollar highlights from the article were that the wedding was going to be held at Daytona International Speedway. The story also talked about how more than 2,000 guests were to attend the wedding where a lavish dinner selection would be served with champagne and top shelf liquors. Although the Enquirer article did not announce a wedding date, it did discuss how grand the track was going to be decorated and how the ceremony would include a procession of racecars.

In a recent report by NASCAR.com, Earnhardt talks about the article and how there is no wedding in the works currently.

So we just skipped the engagement I guess, went right to the wedding. I definitely would have a hard time writing that check. I would not force everybody to go down to Daytona for my wedding. I probably would just have it right there in the back yard, but whatever is easiest. That was funny. I read that and it was a roller coaster of an article. Pretty good.

For the record, Earnhardt and Reimann are not even currently engaged.

Despite the wedding rumors not being true, Earnhardt is still having a pretty good week. It was announced earlier this week that Earnhardt was voted at the First Quarter Driver of the Year. On top of that the Sprint Cup Series will be racing in Talladega this weekend, a track that Earnhardt has won at five times in his career.
