HOT – Jeff Gordon

Jeff Gordon was finally able to win his first race of the season in Kansas. The win was the 89th of his career and pretty much will lock up his spot in the 2014 chase. Through 11 races this season Gordon now right top-10 finishes which leads the series with Matt Kenseth who also has eight. Gordon is also the current points leader and has been atop of the points for the last month. Gordon is gearing himself up to be a serious contender for the championship this season. Aside from his on-track performance, Gordon is more laid back off of the track than he has been in years. Even when wins were slipping through his hands, Gordon remained positive and upbeat. It would appear that Gordon has mellowed a bit with age but that could make him even more of a threat when it comes time for the chase.
