UPDATE #1 – While there hasn’t been an official press release, a photo of the new scheme has surfaced and can be found at the end of this article. It now seems that this scheme will indeed be run but it’s still unknown as to when and where.
End of Update–
Following his 8th place finish at Pocono Raceway in the Pocono 400, Jeff Gordon is once again atop of the NASCAR point standings. While Gordon’s win at Kansas all but ensures his spot in the chase, being atop of the points could help him when it comes to seeding. As Gordon and the No. 24 team prepare for Michigan this weekend there is news breaking that a new primary sponsor is the works.
According to a recent post on Jayski.com, Gordon could have a new primary sponsor at Sonoma and/or New Hampshire. This is what the site has to say in regards to Gordon:
Hearing that Panasonic, an associated sponsor / partner of Hendrick Motorsports will be the primary sponsor at Sonoma Raceway in June and/or New Hampshire in July. Supposedly the car will be blue and white and feature the Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers. Gordon also currently doesn’t have an announced primary sponsor for Atlanta in August or Dover in September.
At the time of this writing nothing has been confirmed in regards to Panasonic coming on as a primary sponsor for any races this season. The site also doesn’t provide a source therefore this information should be treated purely as a rumor as of right now. Beyond The Flag will keep you updated when more information is available in regards to Gordon and a partnership with Panasonic.
