Hendrick Motorsports has now won five races in a row; Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson. Not only are Hendrick drivers winning races but their engines that are in other teams cars are also running towards the top of the finishing order. This past weekend in Michigan was extra special for HMS because even Kasey Kahne had himself a strong day. We all know that Kahne and the No. 5 team have struggled in 2014 but on Sunday Kahne was strong and was able to drive to a 5th place finish. If Kahne is able to win a race this season it would most likely ensure that all four HMS drivers are in the 2014 chase field. Even if Kahne doesn’t make the chase, it’s safe to say that Gordon, Johnson and Earnhardt Jr. all look primed to contend for a title this year.
