For NASCAR’s most popular driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., the last few weeks have extremely difficult as he sits out while recovering from concussion symptoms. Earnhardt Jr. has already been down a long road and it’s still unclear where that road will end.

This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will head to Michigan as the end of the regular season draws near. While NASCAR will be in Michigan this weekend, Earnhardt Jr. will not after it was announced on Wednesday that he was not cleared to return to the No. 88 machine.

Earnhardt Jr. is still recovering from concussion symptoms and as of the time of this writing, there is no indication as to when he will receive the clearance to return to NASCAR. Although Earnhardt Jr. has been out of the No. 88 machine for over a month, this is a battle that he began several years ago.
