The first race of the NASCAR Chase is finally here and 16 drivers will be trying to win to move on to the next round. What will happen at Chicagoland? Here are four predictions for Sunday’s race.

NASCAR will be at Chicagoland Speedway this Sunday for the first race of the Round of 16 in the Chase. We now have the 16 drivers that will be able to compete for the 2016 Sprint Cup Championship, but what type of race can we expect on Sunday?

Joe Gibbs Racing and their alliance with Furniture Row Racing has made Toyota the most dominant manufacturer this season. They continued to look strong heading into the Chase, but will they be able to keep the momentum moving as they enter the first race of the post season?

We saw Ryan Newman and Tony Stewart get into a heated exchange on the track last weekend. These two have been friends, and Newman did race for Stewart before moving to Richard Childress Racing. After last weekends conflict though, it didn’t seem like Newman was too happy with Smoke.

Will these two collide again on Sunday?

The Chase is here and 16 drivers will have a shot at winning the Sprint Cup Championship. Who will look strong coming out of Chicagoland? We’ll have to wait until Sunday to find out, but for now here are four predictions for Sunday’s race.
