The Verizon IndyCar Series visits numerous different types of tracks throughout the season. Which drivers are the best on the oval tracks?

Certain drivers perform better than others at different venues. While all IndyCar tracks have their unique shapes and sizes, they can all categorized be categories as one of three types of tracks: ovals, road courses, or street courses.

This list contains the top five oval track drivers in the series. Note that this has nothing to do with how good these drivers are on ovals in comparison to road or street courses, but simply how good they are when it comes to oval racing.

While not all of these drivers performed spectacularly a season ago, they each have a plethora of evidence to suggest that they have earned their respective spots on this list. This list is based on past seasons as opposed to just last season.
