A.J. Foyt Enterprises are slated to announce their plan for the 2020 IndyCar season as it relates to who will drive the #4 Chevrolet.

Later today, another piece of the puzzle as it relates to the 2020 IndyCar driver lineup is set to be put into place, as A.J. Foyt Enterprises are set to confirm the plan for one of their two cars for the upcoming 17-race campaign.

Team president Larry Foyt is set to discuss the plans for the #4 Chevrolet, which had been driven by Matheus Leist in each of the last two seasons, and he is set to be joined by a driver who has not yet been named, presumably the driver who will be behind the wheel of this car in 2020.

It is believed that Charlie Kimball will be this driver, as he was linked to a full-time ride at the team last month and there have not been any reports stating that this deal was no longer in the works.

Kimball competed part-time for Carlin in the 2019 season after spending the first eight seasons of his career as a part-time driver, including seven at Chip Ganassi Racing and one at Carlin. He was slated to compete in five of the 17 races on last year’s schedule before he ultimately competed in seven.

As for the team’s other car, the #14 Chevrolet, that announcement is not expected quite yet, at least not in today’s meeting.

Tony Kanaan, who has driven the #14 Chevrolet in both of the last two seasons, is still believed to be the front-runner for a part-time ride, likely in at least the five oval races, while Dalton Kellett has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the 12 road and street course races given his funding situation.
