Bobby Labonte injured in bicycle wreck, Bliss to sub at Atlanta

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Bobby Labonte has suffered three broken ribs from from a cicyle accident near his home in Trinity, N.C., Wednesday morning. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and is being held overnight for observation. No other injuries have been reported.

Labonte was scheduled to drive the No. 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet in Sunday night’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with A.J. Allmendinger behind the wheel of the No. 47 JTG-Daugherty entry that Labonte has driven for most of the season. Mike Bliss will drive the No. 51 car at Atlanta in Labonte’s absence.
