Statistically speaking: a look at Kansas Speedway

facebooktwitterreddit

This weekend, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Kansas Speedway near Kansas City, Kan., for Saturday night’s 5-hour Energy 400. It’ll be the first night race for the track. The race is a home game, of sorts for Clint Bowyer of Emporia, Kan., and also Carl Edwards of Columbia, Mo., who claims Kansas as his home track since the circuit doesn’t visit his actual home state of Missouri. It’ll also mark the 300th-career Sprint Cup start for Bowyer. Neither he nor Edwards have won a Sprint Cup race at the home track.

Actually, no driver has more than two wins at Kansas Speedway, and several can claim two — Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart can make that claim. Needless to say, nobody has really dominated Kansas’ victory lane.
