Kansas Five Predictions Wrap Up

Well here we are. The Round of 12 concludes on Sunday in Kansas. Only two drivers, Martin Truex Jr. and Brad Keselowski, know they are headed to the Round of 8 starting next weekend at Martinsville. This means only six positions remain up for grabs in the second round.

Surprisingly, two of the “heavy-hitters” are teetering on the cutoff line heading into Kansas. Kyle Busch trails Jimmie Johnson by seven points for the 8th and final position. There is a very good chance either one of those drivers becomes a pawn on the track as opposed to a playoff driver for the final four races of the season.

By Sunday evening, we will know who will be moving on and who won’t be. Kyle Busch is the predicted favorite to win on Sunday. Expect Jamie McMurray to come from the 12th spot in the playoff points to make the Round of 8. Don’t be too surprised if Jimmie Johnson or Chase Elliott miss out on the third round. Make sure you’re in front of your television for the start of the race, because rain on Saturday will make things interesting on Sunday. Lastly, check your NASCAR news frequently on Monday to read about a driver being caught cheating and losing playoff eligibility. No matter what happens on Sunday, next week, the NASCAR Cup Series will not be in Kansas anymore.
