Texas Prediction #3 – Heat will be an issue.

If you’re heading to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, you can leave the umbrella at home. However, you may want to bring the SPF 50 with you. According to AccuWeather.com, the temperature at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday could hit 91 degrees. These high temperatures could cause engines to overheat and drivers to have bad days.

What a difference a week can make. Last week, drivers went from the cold at Martinsville Speedway to heat predicted to be in the 90’s this weekend. This could mean we are one stray hot dog wrapper away from a car overheating and blowing up.

Even worse is the toll the heat will take on the drivers. Unfortunately, NASCAR Cup Series cars are not air-conditioned and temperatures inside the car could double from the temperature outside.

On Sunday, expect to see NASCAR’s best bring the heat at Texas…literally. It will be very interesting to see if some type of wrapper blocks the grill of a car and causes major havoc to that driver’s day.
