Texas Prediction #5 – We’re going to see another Green-White-Checkered finish this weekend.

In sports, there is nothing better or more exciting than overtime. This is especially the case in NASCAR. Drivers are given two laps to determine who takes home the win, and in some cases it provides us viewers with the best racing we will ever see.

With the high temperatures expected, don’t be surprised when this weekend’s race at Texas gets interesting toward the end when an engine has had enough and erupts, bringing out a late race caution. After a delay while the track crew cleans up the mess, we will be in for a treat — two laps of 200 mile per hour bumping and banging  by drivers looking to gain as many positions as possible in just two laps.

I would suggest viewers pay the closest attention to turn one when overtime gets underway. Cars are not quite up to speed yet and this is prime passing time. Those two laps are when spotters’ blood pressures rise and drivers are really tested. The best part is if a car gets sideways, they get more tries to get it right.
