Swan Song – Can Jeff Gordon Win Title In Final Season?

OK, I’ll admit it is a silly question.  Of course Jeff Gordon can win a fifth NASCAR Sprint Cup championship in 2015, which will be his last as a full-time driver.  Doing so will require skill, capable equipment, experience, teamwork and a little bit of luck.  Fortunately for Gordon, all of those variables which he can control (the exception being luck) he can already check off from the list.

Let’s examine what regular-season races give Jeff the best opportunity to win and therefore almost certainly become Chase eligible, and then break down each segment of the Chase leading to the season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway for a strategy on how to make the elimination-style format work to his advantage so that he is in a position to be one of four drivers who will be the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion.
