NASCAR is in the middle of a three race West Coast swing and now heads to Phoenix International Raceway for the fourth race in the 2017 season.

If you could score fantasy points for punches thrown, punches landed and level of excitement gained, then Joey Logano and Kyle Busch would of scored the most fantasy racing points last weekend in Las Vegas. But, there are no statistical categories for that, so they didn’t have the two highest scores.

However, Joey Logano is in the top five of average fantasy points scored per race. The early season has seen drivers such as Martin Truex Jr., Logano, Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Kasey Kahne and Chase Elliott top the charts when it comes to weekly fantasy points scored. Chances are, if you had one or more of those drivers on your team through the first three races, you faired pretty well.

Now we head to Phoenix International Raceway where sticking with the drivers who have started the season strong is a good place to start.

Choose a driver from Team Penske

Joey Logano ($10,500) and Brad Keselowski ($10,300) have been the two strongest Fords and the strongest team to start the 2017 season. Keselowski picked up a win at Atlanta and almost won again at Las Vegas last Sunday. Logano is still searching for his first win of 2017 and we all know what happened with Logano at Las Vegas last Sunday.

Why not choose both? They’re expensive! Their combined salaries would leave your team with $29,200 to spend on the remaining 4 spots on your team. That’s just $7,300 per driver.

Here are the stats to help you choose one driver from Team Penske. Logano has 1 win, 2 top-five and 3 top-ten finishes in his last four starts at Phoenix. Keselowski has 2 top-ten finishes and has averaged a 14.5 place finish in his last four starts at Phoenix.

Kasey Kahne and Ryan Blaney are still at bargain prices

Kasey Kahne ($8,100) and Ryan Blaney ($8,000) are practically steals at that price. Kahne and Blaney are averaging the fifth and ninth, respectively, most fantasy racing points per race.

Kahne hasn’t had the best finishes at Phoenix in recent years, but in the past two weeks at Atlanta and Las Vegas, has been the second best Hendrick Motorsports car behind only Chase Elliott.

On the other hand, Ryan Blaney scored top ten finishes in both starts at Phoenix last year.

It’s Phoenix, so you need to have Harvick

Harvick is the highest priced driver this week at $11,100. That’s a fifth of your team right there! But, Harvick has been worth it at Phoenix.

Harvick’s stats in his last four races at Phoenix: 2 wins, four top-fives, 506 laps led.

Finish your team with two sleepers

A.J. Allmendinger ($7,000) and Matt DiBenedetto ($5,300) will lock your team in with no driver salary left to spare.

Allmendinger is averaging a respectable 31.3 fantasy racing points to start the season and heads to a track where he has finished outside the top-20 just once in his last four starts.

DiBenedetto is a low price, low reward option for this week. He is averaging 21.6 fantasy racing points to start the season which is still better than higher priced drivers such as Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the No. 17.
