Kahne might not be hot but the rest of his team is doing just fine. Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson currently sit 1st, 4th and 5th in the point standings respectively. Of the three Earnhardt is the only one with a victory but Johnson and Gordon have combined for six top-five finishes and 11 top-10 finishes. Some might say that Johnson has having a down year given his previous seasons success but it’s hard to knock a guy who has run in the top-10 five out of eight races. Gordon has had a win slip away from him twice this season but he still finds himself atop the points for the first time since the 2009 season. Earnhardt is all but locked into the chase with his Dayton 500 victory.
