NASCAR: Who’s Hot and Who’s Not Heading Into All-Star Race
Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports
HOT – Kasey Kahne
2014 has not been a good year thus far for Kasey Kahne. Prior to this past week in Kansas, Kahne had yet to post a top-five finish. Two weeks ago Kahne ran well but finished outside of the top-10. Last weekend in Kansas Kahne had one of the best cars and drove his way to a very nice third place finish. Kahne still has a lot to improve on this season especially when it comes to finding consistency. That being said, the last two races look very promising if he is able to build on that. Kahne’s misfortunes do not all fall on him as the driver though. The No. 5 team has seen its share of equipment issues in 2014 as well as mistakes on pit road. The thing in NASCAR though is that all drivers have to deal with these types of things. The drivers who are able to overcome these things are the ones that position themselves to win races and contend for championships, Kahne needs to find a way to overcome.
