NOT – Danica Patrick

A majority of the NASCAR community took notice when Danica Patrick qualified her No. 10 car in the 4th starting spot for the Coca Cola 600. Patrick who has historically always qualified and ran decent on restrictor plate tracks had never qualified this well on a non-restrictor plate track. Not only did Patrick qualify well but she was also showing some decent speed in practice which led many to think that she might be a contender to win or finish well in the Coca Cola 600. However, things did not go well for Patrick last weekend. She ran well in the opening laps but eventually faded outside of the top-10. She would later lose a cylinder, be involved in a wreck and then blow her engine. It was a very disappointing night all the way around for Patrick and the entire No. 10 team.
