NOT – NASCAR On FOX

The NASCAR on FOX ratings have been in the toilet for the majority of the 2014 season. Although NASCAR numbers as a whole have been down, it is more than fair to say that the FOX coverage has not been helping the cause any. The Fox commentary team leaves plenty to be desired as does their in-race analysis. Aside from the on-air talent, the FOX coverage as a whole has been questionable because they often times have issues providing quality coverage. In the Coca Cola 600 alone there were two instances where the race was commercial and the yellow flag came out; instead of cutting back to coverage FOX ran through its commercials. As a result, the race went live again at the tail end of pit stops. FOX also seems to have an issue when it comes to taking commercial breaks just before pit stops as well as seeming to show more commercials than they do race coverage. I’m aware that they don’t actually show more commercials than race but it certainly does feel that way.
