NOT – Brian Vickers

If Brian Vickers and his team could find any bit of consistency they would most likely have a spot in the 2014 chase. Here is a quick look at how Vickers has finished in his last eight races going back to the Coca-Cola 600 and ending with last weekends race from New Hampshire. Over that span of time he has finished 6th, 43rd, 19th, 42nd, 14th, 26th, 2nd and 21st. Despite his lack of consistency Vickers and his team are only 17 points behind the final spot in the chase. While the 17-point deficit is more than manageable over the next seven races; it’s going to be near impossible to cover that ground when every other week you have a poor finish. At times in 2014 Vickers has run in the front of the field with the best of them and at other times he has looked far less than spectacular. In order to turn things around he is going to have to begin doing for less of the latter.
