NOT – Roush Fenway Racing

The morning of the Brickyard 400 Roush Fenway Racing announced their driver lineup for 2015. The surprising or maybe not surprising thing was that Carl Edwards was not a part of that lineup. While it has been speculated for sometime that Edwards was leaving RFR after this season, nothing had been made official. Earlier this season RFR announced that Trevor Bayne was going to get a full-time ride with them in 2015 which led many to assume that Edwards was officially out but still they did not officially put and end to Edwards remaining with them. The curious thing in all of this is the timing. Why did RFR have to make the announcement then? Could this have not waited until the end of the season? Could this have not waited until Edwards was out of the chase (or won a championship)? Could this have not waited until Monday after the race? RFR was spurned by Edwards and it clearly upset them, it’s a shame that they had to handle the situation in the manner in which they did. I guess being dumped always sucks.
