HOT – AJ Allmendinger

The 2015 season has not gone the way that AJ Allmendinger and his team wanted it to heading into last weekends race at Watkins Glen. Fast forward a few hours after the drop of the green flag and everything was looking better for the No. 47 team. Allmendinger’s win on Sunday marked only his fourth top-10 finish of the season. It was also only the 10th time in 22 races this season that he has even finished on the lead lap. However none of that matters with the new chase format. As long as Allmendinger shows up for the next four races he is going to be in the chase. What he does come time for the chase may be another story but you have to be in it to win it and Allmendinger is in it and that’s all that matters. The win was also the first of his Sprint Cup career which is also pretty awesome.
