Kahne might be bringing down the stock of this duo but he still is a talented driver. Earnhardt Jr. is in the midst of the greatest season of his career. Although he has won more races in previous seasons, Earnhardt Jr. has never been as consistent as he has been in 2014. Earnhardt Jr. is in a great position to win his first NASCAR championship.

Earnhardt Jr: Currently seeded 2nd in the chase standings. Three wins, 11 top-five finishes and 16 top-10 finishes. Average starting position of 15.87 and average finishing position of 10.83.

Kahne: Currently 33 points behind the 16th seed in the chase standings. Two top-five finishes and nine top-10 finishes. Average starting position of 17.58 and average finishing position of 16.85.
