NASCAR: Who’s Hot And Who’s Not Heading Into Richmond

HOT – Kasey Kahne

It took 25 races and two of the best restarts of his entire career but Kasey Kahne finally found his way to Victory Lane Sunday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The win for Kahne means that he has now clinched a spot in the chase where he will join his three Hendrick Motorsports teammates. The win also rejuvenates a No. 5 team that has suffered through many lows in the 24 races prior to Atlanta. With his win and a berth in the chase Kahne will have a clean slate after next weekend. Hopefully for Kahne and his fans he will be able to use that clean slate to make some noise in the chase and contend for his first NASCAR championship. Although his spot in the chase is secured, Kahne will need to keep the momentum going Saturday night in Richmond that way he and his team can hit the ground running when the chase begins and potentially do some damage in the opening round.
