NASCAR: Who’s Hot And Who’s Not Heading Into Texas
USA Today Sports
NOT – Danica Patrick and Kurt Busch
Both of these drivers had high hopes for 2014. On the surface both of these drivers had decent seasons. Busch won a race and made the chase and Patrick has run better in 2014 than she did in 2013. Busch also was knocked out of the chase in the first round and if not for Talladega qualifying (in which Stenhouse Jr. missed a race) Patrick would most likely be worse in the points right now than she was a season ago. Stewart-Haas Racing also has noticed that things are not trending in the right direction for both of these drivers which is why they changed the crew chiefs and crews for both teams. Busch and Patrick will both have new teams for Texas, Busch’s team for 2015 seems to be set while there is some uncertainty as to who will crew chief for the No. 10 team in 2015. Although it’s hard to ignore the positives for both drivers this season it is even harder to ignore that they both could have accomplished so much more. The last three races of 2014 will be the building blocks for 2015 for both of these drivers and both would love for there to be some solid finishes in there.
