No. 5- Kyle Busch: No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry

Busch may come as a surprise for some people. His stats are some of the best in NASCAR over the last seven years and has been one of the most winning drivers over that time period. Busch has won 29 races in his first ten seasons in the Sprint Cup Series. However, there is something Busch has yet to do in his career. Make a championship run.

Busch has been one of the best regular season drivers in NASCAR but when it comes Chase time he and his No. 18 team disappear. Of Busch’s 29 career victories, just one has come in the final ten races of the season. That win came in his rookie year in 2005 at Phoenix when Busch drove for Hendrick Motorsports.

Busch has quickly developed a reputation of becoming a driver who doesn’t perform in the Chase and even though he will be just 30 years old in May folks are beginning to wonder if, not when Busch will ever win a championship.

In 2015 Busch will be on his third crew chief at Joe Gibbs Racing. Former NASCAR Nationwide Series crew chief Adam Stevens will join Busch replacing Dave Rogers who moves to the No. 11 team and Denny Hamlin in 2015. Busch will look to regain the success he had in his first four years to Joe Gibbs Racing. He had 19 victories in his first four years at JGR and was quickly becoming one of the sports best drivers.

However, over the last three years with Rogers Busch has won just six races and has been very vocal about the struggles on his own race team. For Busch an improvement in 2015 is needed if he wants to be considered a championship contender in years to come.
