NASCAR: 10 Bold Predictions For 2015
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports
1. Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will do well with new crew chiefs.
The thoughts heading into 2015 are different for Busch and Earnhardt Jr. after both teams hired new crew chiefs during the off-season.
For Busch there is a sense of relief. Fans of the No. 18 driver had become restless with Dave Rogers and at times it seemed as though Busch and Rogers had become restless with one another. The addition of Adam Stevens to the No. 18 team will be a breath of fresh air. Stevens and Busch have found a great deal of success in the Nationwide Series and there is no reason to think that won’t translate to Sprint Cup. Granted, Busch won’t be finishing every race in the top-five this season but he should have a strong year.
For Earnhardt Jr. the loss of Steve Letarte has spelled doom and gloom for some fans. Letarte and Earnhardt Jr. put together one of his best seasons ever in 2014 when they won four races together. The loss of Letarte is a big deal but it isn’t going to derail the efforts of the No. 88 team. While Earnhardt Jr. may not win four races again this season, he will return to victory lane. In fact, it would not be surprising to see him make that trip twice this season.
