Jimmie Johnson (HMS) – Is a seventh title coming in 2015 for Johnson?

Johnson’s HMS teammate Jeff Gordon will be on his ‘drive for five’ in 2015 but Johnson will be looking for a seventh title.

A seventh title for Johnson would tie him with Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt. A seventh title would also guarantee that his car owner (Gordon) heads off into the sunset without a fifth title. Lastly, a seventh title would cement Johnson as one of the greatest drivers ever (most will say he is already there but in the end it’s all about titles to others).

Johnson is coming off of a 2014 in which he won four times. While the win total was nice, the consistency simply wasn’t there. In the past a bad day for Johnson is a top-15 finish. In 2014 a bad day for Johnson often was a finish outside of the top-20.

If Johnson can find his consistency once again, a seventh title could be on its way.
