No. 2 – Checkers Or Wreckers (2012)

This race is remembered for a few reasons. First, it was the race in which tempers flared between Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer. They were involved in a crash and a retaliation and ended up creating a big brawl with their respective crews in the garage area. In addition to that and to the fact that Harvick won once again, a big wreck created by the not throwing of a caution by NASCAR took place at the checkered flag .

After getting spun out by Jeff Burton while running 13th, Danica Patrick’s engine started leaking oil on the track and many drivers who were coming back to the checkered flag lost control of their cars. The result was chaos and a massive pileup on the front-stretch.
